Allow me to post a response to another Tumblr-r: “I found lots of heavily discounted winter-hardy succculents in Oct ‘11, most of which I stuffed into a discarded shoe organizer’s pockets. Fall turned into winter then spring, some plants didn’t make it (from overwatering, not cold) and I replaced them with herbs and flowers. I removed all of the plants in November and made a couple of repairs to the fabric earlier this spring. When I found some cheap, everbearing strawberry rootlets, I decided to slide some milk carton panels into the front of each pocket to try to shield the soil (esp. in the top rows) from heat and wind.”
